Hi, everyone, it's Evangeline right here at etrailer. And today, we'll be taking a look at our Saris Bones EX 2 Trunk-Mounted Bike Rack right here on our 2014 Prius V. So you have your Toyota Prius V and you also wanna carry around bikes. Now I would always recommend first off the bat, please get a hitch-mounted bike rack, just because you get a little bit more stability that way and it's easier to use. But if by any chance you don't have a hitch or can't get a hitch onto your Prius V, since it usually doesn't come with one, your other options are to either get a roof-mounted bike rack or a trunk-mounted bike rack. Now your Prius is also really good with the gas mileage, so I understand some people don't wanna put their bikes on your roof and a trunk-mounted bike rack is your next best option. more

This is a trunk style bike rack which means that is mounted to your hatch or to your trunk on your vehicle. Here on our Highlander, we have it mounted to our hatch which is great because this works with spoilers. So our Highlander has a little bit of a spoiler on the top so we can see how the straps fit over the top. more

Now this is a great option if you are looking for a trunk mounted bike rack, because maybe you don't have a hitch or you don't have a hitch mounted bike rack, and you want something that will work with your vehicle, even if it has a lip or spoiler on the top.This is a hanging style bike rack. So as you can see here, we have our bike hanging and mounted here to the top. I kind of liked this design because it spaces out a little bit between the bikes with its arch design. more

Thule Raceway Trunk Mount Bike Rack Review - 2007 Toyota Prius- Video
Today on our 2007 Toyota Prius, we're going to test fitting the Thule Raceway Truck Mounted 3 Bike Rack. Part number TH9002XT. To begin our test fit, we'll go ahead and set our fit dials to number 7 and that's per the manufacturer's instructions. Once we have the aero indicator lined up with number 7, we can close those levers and then place this under our vehicle. Now we already cleaned the surfacing where our bike rack makes contact. You want to be sure to work on a nice clean surface to avoid any damage to the finish of your vehicle. With the lower arm in the bottom of the license plate well and the top arm resting gently, just here at the bottom of the glass. We're ready to set out top hooks. In order to do that, we'll pull up on the lever that has the aero point up for our top hook and then we can extend out our retractable cable. We'll go ahead and fit it at the top of our door and then we'll go ahead and tighten that strap down, that way it'll hold our bike rack in place and allows to tighten other straps. We can repeat this process for the other side. We do find it a little bit easier to go in from the corner of the hatch door and then move to the hook to the proper position. Once we have those wheels here on the end tight, to secure our straps, we can repeat that process for our bottom hooks. Now we do need to open our rear hatch door just a little bit to allow us to place in those bottom hooks. more

Thule Raceway Trunk Bike Rack Review - 2011 Toyota Prius- Video
Today on our 2011 Toyota Prius, we'll be test fitting the Thule Raceway 2 Bike Carrier Trunk Mounted, part number TH9001. To begin our test fit, we'll need to fit our dial according to the instructions or the Thule Fit Guide. In this case, we need to set our fit dial to dial number 7. We'll place our carrier directly onto the rear of our Prius. We need to make sure that the lower arm of our carrier sits on the bottom well of our licensed plate. We'll go ahead and fit our top hooks at the top part of our rear hatch. more

Now before we begin our test fit, we will first need to refer to the Thules fit guide or included instructions to determine what number our fit dial should be at. After setting our fit dial, well set the carrier onto the vehicle. Well put the top straps to the top part of the trunk above the spoiler, the side straps to the side part of the trunk, you may need to open up the vehicles cargo door to get the bottom hooks into position, and the bottom straps to the bottom part of the trunk. Well now tighten down the straps to secure the carrier to the vehicle. Now with the carrier secured to the vehicle, were ready to load our bike. more

To begin our test fit, we will first need to refer to the Thule Fit Guide or the included instructions to set our fit dial. Once weve set our fit dial, well place the carrier onto the vehicle. Well put the top straps to the top part of the cargo door above the spoiler, and the bottom straps to the bottom part of the cargo door. You may need to open up your cargo door to get the bottom straps into position. Well then turn the knobs on the left and right hand side of the carrier to tighten down the straps and secure it to the vehicle. more
